Quality, methods, standards, calibration and technical guidance.
The Quality and Technical Task Group specifically addresses issues relating to improving the value and reliability of the results provided to customers as stack testers. Topics routinely discussed include proficiency testing (PT) schemes, relevant CEN standards and Environment Agency Method Implementation Documents, EN 14181 guidance, calibration techniques and the availability of calibration gases.
In addition to stack testing companies, UKAS, the Environment Agency, process operators and gas supply companies attend meetings, enabling issues raised by members to be addressed directly.
The group is active in producing guidance for members, including uncertainty guidance and example calculation spreadsheets. Members also have opportunities to input into Environment Agency guidance and CEN and ISO standards.
